    The group was formed on February 14, bygd several students at UP Diliman, with original vocalist Reynold Munsayac; he was soon replaced with guitarist Jerry Basco&#;s cousin, Jamir Garcia.[1] Heavily influenced by American East Coast rap, they played in clubs in Manila in the s before signing to EMI Philippines (now PolyEast Records) and releasing their debut skiva, 4th Degree Burn, in The group has released six albums and been met with sustained commercial success in the Philippines, particularly with their third skiva, Project .[1] They were nominated for Band of the Year at the NU Rock Awards in and , and in were nominated for Best Artist by MTV Asia.     The band was formed during the University of the Philippines Fair on 14 February , which was also their first ever gig. By early , original singer Reynold Munsayac had left, and Garcia was brought in to replace him. The band's name came from guitar plucking and chord-slapping techniques that characterized the nu-metal sound. Rap-funk-punk-metal fusion band the Red Hot Chili Peppers was a significant influence. Their album 4th Degree Burn reached platinum status. "We started at a young age, and now we've matured. We evolved on our own. We don't confine ourselves to what is the mode today," Garcia claimed.
