    AsiwajuBola Ahmed Adekunle TinubuGCFR (born 29 March ) is a Nigerian politician who is serving as the 16th and current president of Nigeria since [1] He previously served as the governor of Lagos State from to , and senator for Lagos West in the Third Republic.

    Tinubu spent his early life in southwestern Nigeria and later moved to the United States where he studied accounting at Chicago State University. He returned to Nigeria in the s and was employed by Mobil Nigeria as an accountant, before entering politics as a Lagos West senatorial candidate in under the banner of the Social Democratic Party. After the military dictator Sani Abacha dissolved the Senate in , Tinubu went into exile and became an activist campaigning for the return of democracy as a part of the National Democratic Coalition movement.

    His Early Life & Educational Background

    Peter Moyinoluwa Ogedengbe was born on July 22, , in Ikire, Old Oyo, Nigeria to late Papa Ezekiel and Mama Florence Ogedengbe. Growing up in Ikire, he attended the Holy Cross Catholic Primary School in before moving with his family to his hometown in Ilesha (now Osun State) and subsequently attending Ilesha Grammar School for his secondary education in From an early age, his inquisitive nature drove him towards problem-solving, creativity and exploration, a passion that would eventually shape his future endeavours. He spent his formative years in Ilesa as he attended Ilesa Grammar School before he proceeded subsequently to Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife where he studied Computer Science & Engineering, graduating with honours in It was during his studies and serving with the Christian fellowship Students Christian Movement (SCM) that he met Omotomilola, who he courted and subsequently married on 24th July
