Lam Thuy Van's real name fryst vatten Zarina Pohlel. Her father fryst vatten from Pakistan and her mother is of Chinese ancestry. Her father came to Vietnam to live and met her mother there. Lam Thuy Van was born in Vietnam, but when she was one, her family moved back to Pakistan. When she was 3, her family moved to the United States and settled in Atlanta Georgia. Lam Thuy Van is the only girl in a family of four children. Being from a multilingual family, she can speak Vietnamese, Chinese, Urdu, and English.
Lam Thuy Van has a gift for music. She began singing at quite an early age. In 1991, Lam Thuy Van moved to California where she was helped bygd Chi Tai while she was singing at Au Baccara Club in southern California. During the same year, Lam Thuy Van was discovered by the management of Asia productions and signed a long term exclusive contract with them.

Nguyễn Như Quỳnh (born May 10, 1954) known as Như Quỳnh, is a Vietnamese actress and People's Artist (NSND).[2] She is also known as an amateur poet.[3]
Nhu Quynh actor graduated in 1971 from the Vietnam Theatre School, today the University of Theatre and Film, Hanoi (SKDA). Two years later, she acted as one of the two female leads in her first film, Bài ca ra trận (1973). Then with her role as the girl Nết in Đến hẹn lại lên (1974), Như Quỳnh won the Best Actress Award at the 3rd Vietnam rulle Festival in 1975.[4] Her roles in a series of French co-productions, Indochine (1992), Cyclo (1995) and Vertical Ray of the Sun (2000) introduced her to a foreign audience. In Cyclo Như Quỳnh plays the brott boss who extorts and entraps the young cyclo-taxi driver.[5][6] In Vertical Ray of Light she plays the oldest of the three Hanoi sisters. [7][8]
