There arent many active swimmers in the world who have had as many oh-so-close moments as Carson Foster.
Fosters career trajectory is well-known swimming lore now. He started his career as a child phenom, breaking national age group records when he was as young as ten years old. At age 16, like many other talented teenage male swimmers, his name began getting spoken in the same breath as Michael Phelps after he broke Phelpss NAG in the IM. He won World Junior titles and quickly rose to become the top recruit in his class, committing to Texas. He decided to graduate high school early to prepare for the Olympic games, with many believing that he had a shot at qualifying for Tokyo.

Going back to your childhood reading, what were some of the books that you particularly liked as a kid?
Benjamin Carson: Actually, in the beginning, it was all animal books, like Chip the Dam Builder. It was about a beaver and the adventures of this incredible beaver. But you know, Call of the Wild,Beckys Thunder Egg. And, then there were a lot of books that werent necessarily story books, but they were fact books like Reptiles of the Serengeti or things like that and that was really neat because I learned so much about animals that whenever the science teacher brought up anything that even remotely is — I was Johnny on the spot. I had the answer. And within a matter of a year and a half, I went from the bottom of the class to the top of the class, much to the consternation of all those students who used to tease me and call me names. A Biography of Carson McCullers
Carson McCullers (born Lula Carson Smith) was born in Columbus, Georgia, on February 19, She began writing at the age of 15 while attending Columbus High School. In , McCullers moved to New York City. She was planning to attend The Julliard School of Music to study piano but lost her money. Instead, she worked many jobs, such as waitressing. After a return to Columbus, Georgia, to heal from rheumatic fever, McCullers decided to enroll at Columbia University and New York University to study creative writing. She published her short story, an autobiographically inspired piece titled "Wunderkind" (), in Story Magazine.
